Fanaticism and the Fuhrer

Book 12

After the successful raids over Christmas, Josef and the Resistance are settling into a quiet patch as winter takes a tight hold over Rouen. SIS agents, Klaus, Oscar and Arthur are biding their time until they can rendezvous with a British sub and bring American Justin Hogan back to England.

But Hogan has other plans - he does not want to leave France and his work with the Resistance. He starts to plot a risky plan to make it impossible for him to be shipped to England.

For Benoit, avoiding being linked with the raids on the Nazi supply trains seems to have kept him out of trouble, but then he finds himself being pursued by the gendarmes and before he knows it is under arrest for a crime he could not have committed. Suddenly, his role in the Resistance looks in danger of being revealed as he faces criminal charges.

At Gestapo headquarters, Herr Lutz is nervous his mistakes of the past few weeks will come back to haunt him, but fate has strange things in store for him and a mysterious 'vision' in the forest leads to all manner of bizarre antics and the promise of the Fuhrer's imminent arrival.

Will Hitler's arrival in Rouen seal his fate and see him shot in the back? Will the SIS agents end their stint in France with an assassination? Will Benoit be executed for a crime he never committed?
