The Final Solution (Part One) - The Turning of Lutz

Book 13

Saving French Jews and uncovering a movie starlet's secrets - can such a small group of heroes really change the course of the war?

1942

Occupied France

The horrors of Nazi occupation are slowly becoming more real to the residents of Rouen. People keep disappearing and the Gestapo are a constant threat. For Herr Lutz, naïve, young Gestapo officer, much of this escapes him. But when he hears news of the planned Final Solution - the eradication of Jews from Europe - he begins to question what he is doing and who is serving.

Henrietta, the Resistance worker who has befriended Lutz to aid her cause, believes an opportunity has emerged for Lutz to be turned. Could Lutz become an inside man for the Resistance? Is such a thing possible? Or will taking a chance on him expose the entire Resistance to the Gestapo?

London, England

Back from their stint in Rouen, SIS agents, Klaus, Arthur and Oscar find themselves on a case with far less danger, but with potential for a deadly outcome. Asked to work as bodyguards for the nation's sweetheart, Adelaide Knight, actress, and movie star, it seems a strange change of scenery for them, until they learn that Adelaide is suspected of being a Nazi spy.

Could the girl who has convinced thousands of men to sign up really be a supporter of Hitler? Oscar refuses to believe the notion. Will his ardent denial disrupt the mission and end up tearing apart the team? And if Adelaide is a spy, how will this affect the British war effort if news leaks out?

Klaus finds himself battling to hold his team together, while searching for the truth.
